Default H/C Install Finished

First off, to all the great info on this board and ls1howto.com

The install wasn't too bad overall, hardest part was definitely the pickup tube bolt. Car cranked right up and man did I love the sound. IF you listen in the video you can hear me yell after she fired up.

Best advice I have for someone doing a cam swap when trying to align the gears dot to dot, don't waste your time guesstimating and moving over a tooth at a time trying to line it up. We bolted the cam gear back on by hand and turned it to exactly dot to dot. Took it back off slapped the chain on and it lined up perfectly.

Got a video of it here of the initial startup. Car will not find idle at all so I was constantly feathering the throttle to keep her alive. I'm working on tuning in all my free time so I can get this beast out on the street. Here's the vid.

Computer will usually re-learn fully in 200 miles. I'd say it'd take 25 miles to get it good enough. Don't expect it to run well without a tune though. Your computer can and will only do so much. The biggest thing is the idle relearn. Crank it up and let it run, try not to let it die but don't give it gas unless it is right at the verge of dieing. After it finds idle, let it sit for ~1 minute, then rev it to 1500rpms, and let it sit again for ~1 minute. Keep doing this for about 5 minutes. The car *should* idle a lot better. If it doesn't the only thing that will fix it is tuning.

EDIT: on a side note, my car idles and runs decently on no tune and it's a bigger cam than yours. My car was run over 3 months without a tune. So your car should idle.
