Default Cleaning heads

I bought some slightly used LS6 TEA heads, I cleaned them up a bit but I can see gasket material and slight slude in the water journals. Is it OK to solvent tank them? I think the only thing to worry about would be the valve seals. Will it hurt them at all?

it all depends on the solvent in the tank. if it is aluminum safe then it will be fine. but you might as well take the head apart and replace the valve seals. doesnt cost but $20 for new seals and whatever labor that someone would charge to do this.

You might want to call around your area and find a machine shop with a ultra sonic tank. Disasemble the heads and take the bare casting to them you'll get them back looking like new. It's not that much money when they dont have to do anything but soak them
