I have no idea what to get when it come to heads. With my mods below, what would be a good set of heads to get?

Sounds like you're a maximum hp kinda guy. If you can wait, the AFR 225s will be the hot ticket. If you need to buy today, you can't go wrong with the AFR 205s. I have them and make good power through a catted y-pipe.

Well I am in the process of taking my engine out and opening up to see what the **** blew up in it. So I'm pretty much done for the season.

Anyways, the AFR 225s you say are good? How much more HP can I expect to pick up with these?

are you going with a stock rebuild, forged rebuild, or actually going with a 427?

larger cubes, i'd go for the 225s, and maybe put them on an all out 347 aswell. TTP had good results with 225s and a huge cam, putting them over 500rwhp, but its not much of a daily drive style.

how far have you got with the tear down?

I am not sure exactly what type of build I'm going for. A forge rebuild would probably be more up my alley.

I decided to build a bigger motor on tuesday. 3 days later I had the new LS-2 aluminum 402ci motor (shortblock) sitting in my garage from SLP. $4200 with shipping but it seems like a good deal. I am awaiting my AFR 225 heads now. There is about a month wait time I think, or at least thats what they told me when I ordered them. Just deciding on the cam now. I'd go with the bigger cubes if your going to do the block anyway. I also decided to go with the AFR 225 heads after talking to Tony at AFR even though they were a bit more expensive than other brands. Though I have to confess I seriously considered the Patriot stage 3 heads to save the cash and use it towards a fast 90/90 setup.
Good luck and if you don't go bigger with the cubes the 205 AFR heads would be plenty I would think. Call Tony at AFR and he can help you out.

AFR 'S are great heads out of the box.
For the new and next level heads check out our forum vendor,
ET HEADS ,Talk to Craig about intake port volume , and 11 and 12 degree Heads .
I have a nice set of 5.3 ported heads that will be for sale when i get the new Heads by ET PERFORMANCE.
