Default Milling the heads???

If i do mill my heads, how much??

Also what kind of gain will i get from that?

Comp. ratio????

I am very curious cause i eventually want to go to a FI setup, I know I can get another set of heads but i am just curious.

A lot of people are going with between 0.020" and 0.030" mill. A 0.030" mill on stock 5.7 heads is suposed to get about 10.8:1.

The raise in compression is a good thing but if your having the heads milled, get them ported while your in there and possibly do bigger valves.

I just did a head/cam swap on my car and did the following:

- TR224/224 112 LSA
- ported/polished 5.7 liter heads
milled 0.020"
2.08" intake/1.60" exhaust valves
compression is at 11.1:1 becuase of the valves and mill

It all worked out really nicely. Everyone told me "those valves will kill you low end," but the car still seems to jump off the light quick and above 3,500RPM it REALLY screams. I am also thinking in the longrun of doing FI (ATI supercharger) so the big valves will really let the supercharger do its thing.
