Smile Just ordered valvesprings, retainer question

Hey guys,

Per all of your advice, I decided on LS6 springs with a GT2-3 cam. I just ordered the springs, and was wondering if I should do titanium retainers to lighten things up a bit. I plan on setting the rev limiter at 6,400 for safety's sake, so not sure if they are overkill or not.

Thanks,
Rick

Going lighter on valve-train weight is not overkill, but essential for long spring life and easier rev ability. The only downside is that it will leave your wallet a little lighter, LOL.

I was looking at the Manley 23632 retainers (stock height), SDPC has them for $89.50. Will they work with the stock LS6 springs, and is their a reason the Manley retainers are so much cheaper than the Comp and Crane retainers? For the price, I will order them in the next few days assuming their are no problems with them.
