Default Coolant drain ??

Does the LS1 block have "water jacket drain plugs' like older Chevy small blocks? I'm getting ready to pull heads for replacement, and don't want coolant all over the place.

yeah, you can unscrew plugs on the sides of the block - they are near the motor mounts. also, you can drain a decent bit from the radiator petcock.

There is a plug above the starter than will drain out quite a bit of coolant.
