Default o-ring was sucked into intake manifold

ive had a vaccuum leak right where my egr tube meets the intake for a while now and just found out how to fix it... the only problem is that it kept coming back because the o-ring would slip off and it would start to leak again. so i would get used to having to go under the hood to fix it pretty often. well last night i went under the hood yet again and left my car on. i guess i wasnt thinkin about what it would do if i left the car on and i pulled off the tube and the o-ring got sucked down into the intake manifold and my car revved up real loud and did kind of a little backfire thing. after that i would try to start my car and it would run for 5 seconds barely then quit... how bad is this and what do i need to do to fix it... thanks in advance oh btw its a 2000 ws6 trans am 6 speed thanks

Default

shouldn't have hurt anything....that rubber would have melted instantly.....

my guess is you are having a massive vacuum leak (because the O-ring is gone)......
