Talking installing headers w/ heads removed

I'm posting this question here cause most of ya'll have removed heads for some reason or other. question is, since I'm replacing my heads with after market one's do I still need to install headers from bottom? or head removal make it easey from top? I'm asking this "Q" cause it will be done in my garage, car on jack stands no lift. (2001 ws6) any help on this will be appraciated.

You can put the headers down in from the top with the heads out of the car and let them sit next to the strut towers untill you get the heads back on.

What Conan said. Everything is easier to work on with the heads off. In fact, now's a good time to put poly motor mounts in too if you don't have them already. So much easier to install those things without the heads and the headers in the way.
