Default Stock main caps

How much HP can the stock main caps hold with studs?

More than you can make I'd imagine, have not heard of a lot of problems with them.

My TT 408 has stock caps with ARP studs.

BTW : There are main cap girdles that you can bolt over the mains that are supposed to help hold stuff together.

I'll be throwing quite a bit at them, about 1000-1100 hp. I thought the girdle only help the aluminum blocks- i guess it would of helped to say Im running an iron block

We have seen the caps loose there register and walk quite a bit at anything over 1000 rwhp. If you plan on exceeding 1000, it would be good insurance to install billet main caps. They are aprox 3x's stronger than the stock caps.
