Would that 5w40 work down here in the Texas heat? My buddy runs Amsoil in his Cobra, and likes it. I'm still with Mobile 1 (5w30), and have no complaints except a little rattle upon start-up occasionally. We've had 100 degree weather recently, and I am concerned. The car has 36k on it. Suggestions?

you're in the same (almost, we have more humidity) conditions that I am, so I'm sure that amsoil would work.
