Default Cam only

If I were to just install let's say a magic stick, would I have to do anything else other than the cam install? Or would it just simply be installing the cam and the PC would do the rest. This is on a 98 Camaro LS1, automatic.

as for parts, you should install hardened pushrods, better valve springs, retainers, timing chain, oil pump, etc. The car might not run properly without a tune. My old 224 cam ran fine without one, but that was a 224 cam. My G5X3 is a different story. To get the most out of that cam, and the best driveability, you will need a tune.

Don't do that... A magic stick on an A4 stock, no tuning, headers, ect bad idea. I'm sure most will agree.

dbl valvesprings, at least a 3500 stall, hardened pushrods, ported oil pump, timing chain, dyno tune, etc etc etc etc.

read up and learn about these cars and engines in general. you might learn something, don't be scared..

For a cam that size I'd recommend at least a 3800-4000 stall converter. SEARCH You should also have headers and the other bolt ons such as an LS6 intake manifold, underdrive pulley and a lid first. SEARCH.

Searching and reading the stickies would give you all the info you need for now. SEARCH. Typical cam swap replacement of valvesprings, pushrods, and retainers along with the optional timing chain and oil pump would also be required, as would a hands on dyno tune by somebody who knows what they are doing. SEARCH

Oh yeah, SEARCH!!! Seriously, please.
