Default about to order cam, does this all look right?

Okay! Now i'm about to order a cam, the only thing i have left to find is the oil pump and, if needed electric water pump. But those should be easy to find!
Heres what i have so far,
FMS Custom Grind Camshaft - 230"/232" .595"/.585" 112LSA - aggressive profile with a 2500-6800 RPM range, rough idle

Rollmaster Double-Roller Adjustable Timing Set, LS1-Based Cars and Trucks

Comp Cams Hi-Tech One-Piece Chromemoly pushrods, 7.400" (Stock LS1 Length)

Manley Performance Valve Springs, LS1/LT1/LT4/L98, 1.290 diameter, Double spring w/o damper, max lift .650"

Does this look good? I dont want parts that won't work together, as with many of you, i'm on a tight budget here =)

I have a walboro (sp) fuel pump i'm bidding on through e-bay for 110 bux right now. If theres a place to get one cheaper, i'd like to know =)
All i have left is the oil pump, but i wanna make sure these all work together.
Thanks guys!

What heads? I have CNC heads from GM and a TSP 233/239 .600.
It makes peak HP at 6100. I think that with your duration, it will peak at under 6000. You may want to consider adjustable rockers to get the lifter preload just right.

Well that's good news. It would suck for them to not be. They are a great group of people from what I hear and I know Allan has helped me often. Not to mention the shop

My opinion, if your using stock heads I would go with 7.425" pushrods to get the lifter preload closer to ideal. There is a pushrod calculator somewhere on here. I would not bother with adjustable rockers, they aren't worth the money and hassle in my opinion.

FWIW, I just installed the same cam and spring setup in my car. I used the supplied valve spring shims to get my open height in the ideal range. Gives a little extra spring pressure too.

Unless you plan to rev the **** out of your engine, I would not bother with a double roller timing chain. I am guessing you got the standard F13 which is a 112+4 cam. In that case, the cam will peak at 6500 rpm, so no need to rev much higher.

you want to shift a little past peak, that way you are close to the power range when you get back into the next gear.

Personally, I've always heard and read of 7.4 pushrods on a stock headed motor aswell.
The manley's are good springs, thats what im running, but I didnt shim them. They had enough pressure without being shimmed, and that added pressure could eventually lead to the death of a lifter and therefore cam lobe.

I'd run a ls2 chain in there and call it a day, no need for the double roller.

combination motorsports has walbro pumps for a great price, wouldnt spend over 110 elsewhere, and these guys are a sponsor.

as for ordering through FMS, check the sponsor sales section, as many of our LA based sponsors have posted up their dealings since Katrina. They may be able to fill orders, may not. Email them, and be patient, as I'm sure they are getting flooded with questions and whatnot.

You won't be dissapointed with the cam choice, that is a great cam, Allan and Candy are some of the best in the business.

Brandon, you are right about the pushrods. Most everyone with a cam only car runs the 7.4" and they work fine. I just figured the 7.425" ones are only 10$ more for the better preload and to make sure you get all the valve lift.

As for springs it may be a case by case basis for shimming them. I put 2 in without shims and measured them. The installed height was 1.810" without the shims. That is fine, the problem was with the open height. Manley says to get your open height at 1.15" ideally. The instructions said to not go more than .050" over the 1.15" open height (ie don't go more than 1.2" open height). With my F13 at .595 lift I would be a little short on the open height (0.015"). The shims were .030" thick, so I went ahead and put them in. It put my installed height at 1.780" and my open height at 1.185".

It's not much difference, but I am picky. Just remember if you don't have the ideal open height Manley specifies you will not see the seat pressure they specify either. I also threw in new comp cams lifters (I had my heads off, but thats another story ).
