Default REV double springs - any issues?

I have these with a 220/220, 560/560 cam and tera yellow rockers....

No issues yet.

Are these springs holding up in other applications?

Broke one last Saturday, little over 7K miles easy use ! Always thoroughly warmed, 190* oil before exceeding 2500 rpm.

I have had the rev 1116s and the 816s. Broke both. The 1116s lasted about a week less than 150 miles. The 816s (broke 2 of them) lasted about 2000-2500 miles. They suck in my opinion. I had Erson springs last longer. Thats right Erson. 17,000 on those. In my opinion get the PRCs or Patriot Golds.

BTW I have a 230/230 .578 lift cam.

Great.... love to hear this. Looks like a set of PRC duals will be purchased and put on so I don't waste my time. Anyone know it fhe titanuim retainers that I have will work with the PRC springs, or are those gonna have to be changed too?

on a 2nd thought... maybe I should pull the 918's off my stock heads and put those on instead? If the TI retainers holding hte PRC springs on will work with the PRC gold duals.. then I'll go that route. But if not... I may just take my 918's and slug them on in place of the REV springs, if they are really that bad.

Rev springs were one of the first that came out as "duals"
I also heard of too many failures to justify their purchase.

Get PP golds, or PRCs and never look back.

To anwser your question, I think Ti retainer from PP will fit the PRCs. You may wanna ask TSP to confirm..

Good Luck !

The "old" REV valve springs had issues with them. They have new ones now which have no problems unless, like any valve spring, are installed wrong. FYI, new springs are made at the same place as PP.

Yes, the Patriot and the PRC use the same parts.

Our retainers will be different than a PRC retainer. Our retainers are designed to be used with a machined Super 7 lock that we provide with our kits, while the PRC retainer is designed to be used with stamped OEM locks.

Over 50 thousand miles of daily driving with a 220º .581" cam with my REV duals. As mentioned above, the earily batch of springs had defects. I've recently heard a couple of the Pioneer dual spings have broken, but can't confirm this.

WOW! my REV duals have been on for three years with no issues. They were the earliest of the early REV doubles....

I also have the titanium retainers so maybe they help them last longer....

I was having some SES issues recently so I pulled the valve covers to see if anything was busted..... No issues with hard parts so far....

I guess the bee hive springs are better since they are lighter and can rev higher.... When I was doing my H/C, the Comp 918s were busting like pop corn as a result of some very defective heat treatments so I opted for the only other choice at the time...

I hate the thought of changing springs in an f-body so I'll keep them for now!
