Go big on an LS1 or LS2?
OK, I'm not ready to do this now but I'm just trying to get insight on what options are there. OK, I've pretty much determined that to go to a 4.125" bore a re-lined LS2 would be cheaper than a re-sleeved LS1, but just how much cheaper? Also, I heard Darton was coming out with a 4.200" sleeve. Do you think there will ever be the ability to re-line an LS2 to this diameter? If so, do you think this would be any more expensive than a 4.125" re-line?

call up some some of the sponsors that build and or resleave blocks.
I see no reason why a ls2 block couldnt be sleeved with a 4.200.
If you are on a budget, why not just get an ls2 stroker... stick a 4.100 crank in there on 6.125 rods and its around 412 i believe...
30 over on the pistons or so...

I think it would just be nice to have a 455. It is in a Trans Am so it's just what sounds right I guess. Thanks for the advice though. I'll see if MTI can re-line to 4.200"

a dry sleeved ls2 block will run ~2800 including the price of a new ls2 block. the wet sleeve MID kits for the ls1/ls6 will run you ~3300 bucks.
contact Steve Demirjian if you would like one done, he's the man, period. also you can ask steve about the 4.200 sleeves or i can find out an estimated ETA for you.
the MTI 455 was a 4.160 bore and custom 4.185 stroke.
