Default which springs should i use

With 120K+ miles on the motor. I wanted to change out the rods and springs. I am going to keep the stock rods so I was wondering what would be the best aftermarket springs to use with a stock cam and stock rods? Also, please convience me to go with hardend pushrods as I would much rather bend a rod then throw one through my motor, unless i have this all wrong...

918's. if you plan on adding a cam you might as well get some hardened pushrods.

You have it wrong. Rods that are "thrown" are connecting rods, not pushrods. Pushrods will always bend before they break, but they are never thrown. I'd advise getting new pushrods and comp 918s.

Connecting Rod:

CompCam 918 are the best way to go in your case. They are stock dimentions so no need for any modifications. They are stronger to handle more lift (up to 600) incase you want a bigger cam later on, and whaile your at it get you some Titanium Retainers from CompCams too, and Chorme molly push rods. With these set up you won't need to worry about your valve tran for a long time. And bump up the redline a bit after these upgrades, it will be more fun for your M6.

With a 120K miles, I would suggest a leakdown and compression tests to determine the status of your motor.
If bottom block is healthy then you can mod, otherwise save your money for a rebuild down the road.

Ya good advice. What is the difference between a leakdown and compression. I know how to do a compression...
