Default Quick head removal question

Is it easier to remove the heads from an LS1 by unbolting the k-member and dropping the motor down, or is it just as easy to pull the head straight off the block.

I have a not-so-good back (38 year old fart) so keep that in mind when answering this question.

Thanks

Pull it out th top, I have done it both ways, its alot easier without having to deal with the brake lines and all that crap.

Well nots to cut on you so bad, but I took it straight off the block, was on top of the motor, been on the battery to get the plugs out and really been all over the motor,38 is not old, unless your life has been really really rough. I'm 37 bud and my back is fit as a fiddle. Hope this motivates you., you can do it even at 38 from the top. Good luck.

Pulling it right off teh block isn't bad at all. I had to do it a few weeks ago during my cam install when the lifter fell.
