Default Cheatr Package

I want to retain stock idle and still have good gas mileage! Just wondering if there are other head and cam packages out there like MTI's head and cam package or Thunderracing's head and cam package?

Which is better Thunderracing's head and cam pckg. or MTI's head and cam pckg. ????

Like I said, looking for drivability, reliablity and fuel mileage unchanged from stock creating no sacrifices for increased horse power!

Can't go wrong with either company.

I chose to go with the Thunder Racing CheaTR package because of the components offered. I liked the fact that Thunder uses the AFR 205 heads for a foundation of the package. A CNC ported head from AFR is going to be good no matter what day is was made. Can't always say that about hand ported heads.

Also, the Thunder Racing 215/230 .600/.578 117LSA CheaTR cam offered no compromises when it came to total power (from idle to 6800 rpm), fuel economy (as good as stock), and street manners.

Yes, there are more affordable packages out on the market, but none I've found that offered so much power with so few compromises in every-day dependability and driveability.

Yeah, I dunno why some of my buddies are going with big cams and killer torque converters... You really don't need it! Stick with something that is for street and strip, not just strip. I take my car out only on weekends, but I'd still like to get a decent gas mileage and reliability! I was first going to do just all bolt ons and stop the mods. But, after seeing the MTI and Cheatr Package, I can't stop there.

Anyone have to say anything else about these type of packages or anything else out there?

i read on this board about a guy that got the cheatr cam package, not with the heads, and his gas mileage went up 2MPG, but he was also had valve float after 5800RPM
