will lifters cause misfires??

will lifters cause misfires?? Im going to try to swap coil packs again and this time monitor the misfires with efi or tuners, but i would like to know if lifters are also a culprit that could cause misfires on 2 cylinders...

missfire i've caught missfires due to bad injectors,bad plugs,bad gapping on plugs,bad plug wires,or plug wires not connected properly
