Default low oil pressure

When I start my car my oil pressure reads between 50-60 psi. When my car comes up to temp.the gauge reads between 20-22 at a idle.It will rise with engine rpm but when I come to a stop it drops back down to 20 psi.My car is a 98 ta I've heard these cars are known for thier bad oil pumps.Could this be a sign of a faulty pump the motor has a 100,000 miles on it

yeah could be, but that pressure isn't really that bad. With 100,000 miles on it, I'm sure the bearings are pretty worn so I'd just put some thicker oil in that bad boy and keep on truckin.

That year car was/is notorious for failed oil pumps. If you watch the oil pressure like a hawk, you will probably be ok, but it will mostly likely fail altogether. If that happens and you are not paying attention, it's new motor time. Of course, then you could do some more mods like an LS2 402 block, etc....
