Default Quick 5.3L Head Question...

Would there be any benefit putting 5.3L heads off a 2002 Truck on my 2000 LS1?

Yes/No?

search harder.

stock they've got a smaller combustion chamber that will raise your compression. ~10.8 all things being equal. however they've got a smaller intake valve 1.89 vs 2.00 on the 5.7's. stock for stock cfm is pretty much equal.

And the 4.8/5.3 head has a 3.8" chamber diameter and has to be opened up to 3.9" and have the valve changed before it makes as much power as the 5.7

the stock seats will hold a 2.00 or 2.02 valve though right? only if you want 2.05 do the seats need to be changed?

You are correct, although I had one sponsor that had us put 2.05 valves on stock seats, too risky for me.

I don't think the 1.89 valve in a 5.3 will make as much power as the 2.00 in a stock 5.7 head, no way.

You have to do the chamber and put a 2.00 or 2.02 valve in a 5.3 head in order to make more power then a 5.7.

BTW, I never checked that thread, you wanna flow a head? PM me or call me 330 784-5210
