Default How to !air tubes

I want to remove the air tubes and valves, from the exhaust system. Do I just remove the parts and block off the vacume lines? I did this with my old lt-1 and the computer tune took care of any engine codes I just wanted to know if the LS is the same way.

You wil have an ses light, but it won't mean anything. You can get it deleted with ls1edit or hptuners.

I ended up just removing everything from that system (pump, lines, etc) and my headers don't have emmissions provisions... Codes were removed with tuning...

Thanks for the replies. The hedders are from SLP so they have provisions for the tubes, I just have to make a couple of block off plates for the hedders.

I remoeber allt he AIR pipes when doing the LSX intake install, the vacuum part that the air pump goes to was getting in the way. Removed all apart fromt he Air pump int he front drivers side fender, may remove that at the weekend.

I ran the car with the AIR fuse still in place for a few days, its a little noisy when you start up, hearing rushing air under the hood, sounds like something is wrong, or you have a vacuum cleaner plugged in under there.

The pump is feels quite high pressure when you put your hand over the pipe that goes nowhere, there must be some weight in the pump, so out it will come at the weekend.

Also removed the EGR at the same time. I used HP Tuners to delete the error code.

I expect your fueses are in the same place as mine. Under the hood you have two fuse boxes, well one is mainly relays. There is a relay for the AIR pump but it kept it in for safe keeping, I know if I remove it I would never find it again, however i will never need it again. Anyway, I removed the fuse from the fuse box, as shown in the photos. Hope this helps.

What kind of HP gain can you really get from removing the air tubes and pump? Got me thinkin of removing mine also.

Negligible... The AIR assembly is typically removed when you get rid of your cats, not for a tangible HP gain.

It sure cleans up the engine bay. Mine passed inspection last year. Due again in Dec. I do not think we have a visual just ODB2 hook up.

Nice engine bay. Some Billet fuel rails would look killer in there too.
