I wouldn't use stronger rods with the rest stock valvetrain. Say you hit the rev limiter, the rods are supposed to bend first so that nothing major gets screwed up. You put some hardend ones in there and next time it might be a bent valve or something. just my 2 cents.

Dreamstate23, did you get the broken piece out? Are you going to pull the rest and look at them, if you had a problems with one who knows what the others are like.

I havn't been back over there, the car is about 30minutes from my house at a friends, going tommorrow. I pulled out all but 2 before it started to look like it was going to rain. The others were fine so far. The other piece is still in there, I didn't have my extendable magnet thing with me. I'm just gonna slide that down the hole and it should just pick the other half right up.

I was fooling around with HTPPIII with rev limiters, and left it at 6600. Big mistake. One mis-shift later (My bad ), I had a nice ticking sound that sounded like an exhaust leak. Drove it for a day to several places to see what people thought, then got to work, went to go pull out #8 exhaust pushrod, and only pulled out half of it.

Well turned out I had 1 broken and 2 bent on the passenger side. I only had enough to replace the broken one and one bent one. I put one bent one back in and cranked it up. Quiet as can be, you would never know one was bent. That leaves me to believe these things could have been bent since before I even bought my car and one finally gave out. Now I gotta check the driver side to make sure no of those are bent.

O yeah they were all on the intake side.
