Talking tune before cam

I have a 224 cam and had a tune after I installed it. lets say I pull it out and go with something like high 220's low 230's do I need another tune? (228/230, 230/232) the 224 just doesnt give me the choppy idle I want and I just passed smog so I'm good for 2 years.

You'll likely need another tune to get the most power out of the cam.

Your timing will probably need to be changed, or else you'll get knock somewhere. That's unless you have a really conservative tune now (lower timing than optimal).
