Default Lifter Trays????

I'm getting new lifter trays for my h/c swap. The dealership doesn't stock 'em so I need to order them. Do I need FOUR or EIGHT of part # 12551162 (lifter tray)?

Thanks

Four, one cup for every cylinder (one holds int/exhaust) paired adjacent cylinders.

I edited, lack of sleep. Mean't there is a cup for every cylinder but they are paired with mounting bolt in the middle. Sorry.

I was figuring $4 each plus $5 to ship. When I was looking for them, my local dealer wanted $6 each for them and I had to order 5 not four (which is stupid IMO).

I was thinking of drilling holes in these, but decided against it.

"I was thinking of drilling holes in these, but decided against it."

Why? It's a worthwhile upgrade. Drilling a 1/2" hole on the lower face of the lifter tray, one below each lifter, will drain more oil, which helps to manage oil better in the engine.

laziness. I was also think of going with two 1/4" holes instead of teh bi 1/2" hole...

Sometimes I think too much
