Default Ls1 knock

So. Changed my oil 100 miles ago. Mobil 1 and a fram filter. I was driving home tonite (normal driving 25 mile straigt shot at 55 MPH ). Twards the end of the trip I hit the gas a little in 5th gear and i noticed smoke out of the rear. Downshifted into 4th in a turn lane and it was smokeing constantly. When I pushed in the clutch to let it idle I heard some noise. Went 4 bloocks further to my house.
At an idle it has a noticeable knock that sounds like the piston slap but alot deeper and louder. At above idle the niose goes away.
The oil is full. and the oil pressure has not changed.
I juist got this car 3mo. ago and put on 2000 mi. I dont have any history. It has 48000 on it now.
Am I a victom of the fram crap filter? Mabee the Mobil Syn oil.
Anyone have this happen?
Im going to change the oil with Castrol 0w30 and a Delco filter.

Thanks in advance

possibly you bought it with the problem that someone was trying to cover up, what was the reason why the other party was selling it? There are some pretty shady used car dealers out there, that even goes for dealerships.

Based on your description, sounds like a bearing but I am not sure if the problem would disappear at higher RPM. Oil change is a good first step. You say the oil pressure hasn't changed, but what is it at idle and higher RPM's?

Spun bearing would get louder with RPMs and it would be a noticeable knock. When I say noticeable I mean fairly loud.... even with some RPMs you would hear it over exhaust.

That's a pretty bold statement for someone that needs help. I'm the kinda guy that would help you out and would never wish bad things on anyone but with that stupidity I hope noeone offers their knowledge. Maybe you should just get rid of it and buy something else..... like a Honda. I hear their dependable and import guys seem to know everything.
