MTI Stealth 2 cam?
Howdy LS1 gurus. I have a 5.3 in my truck and i was wondering if that stealth cam would make much noise at all in a smaller motor? It is a 224/220 .581/.581 on a 116lsa. I put a smaller cam in (216/224 .558/.558 114 lsa) and it was pretty thumpy. My dad made me take it out because i didnt tell him about it and did it behind his back. He doesnt want any kind of cam in my truck or have any kind of performance mods but i think otherwise. I want good performance but dont want the sound. ( i want the sound but you know how that is...lopity lope ) I was deciding between that one or the dreaded z06 cam. I know the stealth cam should make some more power than the vette cam. I was wondering if it would be really noticeable in my truck. I do have cats and the rest of the mods are in the signature. Has anyone run this cam or heard it in person? please give me some oppinions. Thanx.

your 19 years old and buy your own stuff, tell your dad to kiss your *** and run whatever cam you want.
If you cant do that, run a good cam with factory manifolds, cats, and a SS muffler. that should pretty much get rid of the noise, and not lose much performance.

Try the LPE GT2-3 cam. It will idle dead stock and give you more power than the LS6 cam.
Thank your dad often for providing your college education. He sounds like a guy that might know what he's doing.

I agree with the LPE GT2-3
It is on 117.5 lsa and with Magnaflow muff he won't tell the difference.
but a College education is worth a million cams. Believe me I know, i had to do ROTC and 2 years of service to get that. Now I buy all the cams i want.

I rode in a car T/A that had the GT2-3 and it was quiet at idle and gave you a suprize when you hit the gas. What you could do is save your money until you get out of college and do the whole motor up, that way you can do some research and at the same time not **** off your dad. Just got through the same situation, and now I am having fun with my car, and have money to buy things. hope it all works out for ya
