918's or not?
I just swapped cams tonight and really wasnt thinking about it but, should i swap springs? I have BeeHives with Titanium Retainers here are my old and new cam specs..
236 /230 .599 /.599 111 lsa Old cam
244/252 .612/.632 113 lsa +3* adv. ground in
I think im close, with already having the retainers, whats the best replacement? Thanks for any info this. I think i know the answer already, just want to here it from some other folks..Jim

well are you going to run into coil bind with the new cam? is the RPM going to increase with the duration? What kind of pressures do those lobes need to work
All of those would warrent new springs to match the setup and cam.

With the lift of that cam you're kinda pushing the limits of those already used 918's. With the threads about the 918's failing, usually when used with a cam that has a lift close to 0.600" or when used for a high amount of miles, I wouldn't second guess swapping them out for some dual springs. I know it's probably not what you want to hear, but better be safe than have a piston smack a valve.

Yeah, changing them isnt a setback, i know the specs say .600 and im sure there is some play in there for safety, the old springs dont have many miles on them at all, but i am going to go ahead and swap them out and play it safe. Just needed some opinions on it since we were on the bubble. Thanks Jim
