Oil Pressure
Why is my oil pressure so high? 40@idle, and 60 while driving or accelorating...
is this about right?
sorry im used to my old lt1 which had an idle of about 15 and a drive of about 25... which i know the lt1 was tired...

That seems a little high to me. How many miles do you have on the car? When bearings start to go bad your oil pressure starts to shoot up do the the debris clogging the oil ports in your crank.

IF 60 PSI is just when you are getting on it thats fine, but i thought you meant like when you were driving easy. Mine got up to about 80 when my bearings were going bad.

who ever said that when your if your oil pressure goes up your bearings are bad is wrong. your oil pressure will go down when bearings go bad because the oil can "escape" easier from in between the the bearing and crank. the oil clearences are greater there for if you are pushing the same amount of oil at the same psi it will be easier to be "pushed out". you if you had metal in your oil passages "blocking" it then how does it get past the filter? the metal will be pushed out form the journals, no back in from the bearings to the pump. also i have a 99 Z with 123K and stock oil pump and it is at 40psi at idle when hot and goes to about 70psi under wot. that is good oil pressure. it also depends on what wt oil you run. the higher the more oil pressure you will tend to have, to a point.
