Default R&R left cyl head C5

Anybody got any book beaters on doing this job? New heads, but one has a leaking freeze plug. Shi**y luck, but considering how many installs I've done over the years with no defective new parts...I'm alright.

try ceramic seal in cooling system without antifreeze (water only). once it seals then drain out water and fill with glycol mix as recommended. gm also sells coolant pellets for leak repair

Passenger side or driver side? The passenger side is very easy, probably a 2.5 hour job, the driver side is about .5 hours longer.

Driver's side. Freeze plug leak shoots flat / wide continous stream, so I don't think any sealant would have a chance. Do you guys leave the water pump on? With water pump out out of the way, it sure would make easier to tighten inboard lower p/s bracket bolt (I forgot to cut that bolt head off and remove). The new style water pump gaskets are re-usable; right?

Thanks,
