Well ... are you wanting to install it yourself or have a shop install it? If shop install it ... figure about 350 labor. If you install it, figure ~50$$ in oil, coolant, and other misc parts needed.
New cam ~390-400 + Shipping
New Springs (918's) ~190 + Shipping
New Pushrods ~ 100 + Shipping
New Titanium Retainers are optional ... but would run about 170 + Shipping
You can cut costs by buying a cam package from Thunder also.
Since its a 98 you'll probly want to go ahead and replace the oilpump (I didn't look to see how much that was as I didn't get one for my cam). And a new timing chain (ls2 ~ 35 bucks from SDPC)

you can buy my Futral 224-112 (F2) cam for less than a new TR224. i had a TR224-114lsa and this F2 makes all the same power and drives nicer even on the tighter lobe separation. if interested PM me...I've only put about 2,000 miles on it, bought it new.
cams are easy to install...do as much reading as you can and take your time doing it. i'd recommend the Comp 918s...you can use your stock retainers and pushrods are up to you. i'm running the stock pushrods and have had zero problems. i'd say in all youre looking at $700 after gaskets, fluids, etc. but that depends if you buy a new cam or if youre interested in mine, lol!

no ... you might have to wait 20-30 seconds for it to find idle w/ you helping it by giving it alil gas. and it'll buck down in the lower rpm's until its smoothed out by tuning. If you start running rich your o2 sensors might foul out. But mechanically everything will be fine if you run it untuned for a while. I just woulnd't be taking it to the track and or make too many high rpm runs until its tuned.
