head gasket???

Anyone ever use a set of head gaskets like these?? I ordered them from GM for an 02 LS1.

Yeah, it is, but I was just wondering if it would be good to use, since I have always used the carbon gaskets??????

Just make sure the head and the block are cleaned up nicely.

My Cometic gaskets are MLS.
I know a couple guys local to me that are running MLS gaskets without a problem.

Lots of people use them. Others don't because of there .064" thickness.

I used them on my car, no issues at all.
All Lingenfelter engines get them standard.
They are .056 compressed.

so is it still the same touque specs to tighten down the heads then? 70-ftlbs?

Every LS1 produced in the last 6+ years uses them. They seal fine. Plenty of poeple use them without problem.

if you use the moly lube, then 40, 60, 70...dont remember what it is if you use motor oil as the lube. just tighten the stud to where its snug.

i run them and have no issues at all. along with blower cars i have seen the gm ones work fine. unless you need a specific thickness theres no reason to spend 3times as much on cometics or twice as much for another companys

My other question is, these gaskets cover the water jackets on the block and the heads.....take a look at them....they only have holes in the front of the gaskets for the water jackets.......any input on this???
