Default Thinking of changing cam already

I have 2002 ws.6 A4, just installed a fms 224/224 588/588 112, thinking i should have went with either the fms 226/226 575/575 114 or the fms 228/228 576/576 114, what do you guys think. I have all the bolt-ons, still haven't did the stall yet, which i regret, i want to go with a 3000 stall and 3.73 gears, i had my car tuned with the 224 cam already, car drives great. idles alittle rough with the 112, but now bad, i just wish i would have went with the bigger cam, i guess my question, is it worth going with one of the other cams, im leaning more towards the 228/228.

No point in moving to a 226. The 228.... Eh.... Still not a huge improvement. Why not pick up your stall, and see where you stand after that? Either way you'll have to get it eventually, so see if it gets your mod bug or not.

Good luck.

IMO, Its not worth switching unless you add at least 4* overlap at .05 (assuming the lobes are the same). Therefore your next step up is no less than a 228/228 112 and probably bigger. Going to a 228/228 114 isn't going to do anything noticable until you get above 6400.

Thanks guys, i think not having the stall is really hurting me. Now if i went with the 228/228 on the 112, would my car idle an worse? it idles good now with the tune, sometimes when i put the car in reverse, the rpms kinda dip down to where it almost stalls, but not all the time. And would i make alittle or alot more power from a 224 to a 228?

You would need to tweak your tune if you swap cams. The 228 might need an extra 50 rpms at idle, but that depends on your current idle speed.

If you want a lot more power, than plan on a using 230 or higher duration or cut your LSA on the 228 cam to 111 or 110. You'll notice a gain in midrange power with a 228/228 111.

As others have said, get the stall before doing anything with your cam.

I'd go with the F-13

My RJ-15 works fine as a daily driver and with 26-27mpg on the interstate, who's complaining?
