Clanking Noise After WOT??????!
So i just got my car back after over a month long.
I also now have a Yank ss4000 i just got in.
My first test on the stall goes like this.
3k launch from a light. WOT take it top second AT 6950rpms.
no noticable change in anything until about 3k shifts it makes a clanking niose like loose bolts or something from the engine internally somewhere. i then notice the next day after that night the oil pressure seemed alot lower
usaully it doesn't go lower then 40psi at idle and works it's way up probably around 65psi max if not more
now it's around 28psi and when driving around it works up to about 40psi not max though probably b/c i haven't gotten on it again just incase.
everything else checks out ok. checked my valvetrain seems to be fine as far as i could tell.
i've taken stock ls1 pumps to over 600rwhp and 7500 rpms and never fail or decrease.
could this niose be coming from the oilpump???

would a rod bearing make a louder clattering type sound? it sounds almost like a tapping rocker arm. then if i bleap it sounds like it jumps around for that second like if the rocker arm lost its bearing. but i didn't notice anything when i checked under the covers.

My buddy's stealth TT spun a rod bearing a while back. It started out sounding like a lifter tick so he swapped out the lifters but it kept getting worse until it finally sounded like someone shaking up a can of spray paint really fast. It sounded like the rod was bouncing around on the crank.

hmmmm. if i dropped the oilpan would i notice if it was a bearing? it's just kinda hard it to beleive it would just go like that no warning at all, no progressive symptoms, nothing. punching out of the hole once from 1st to high 2nd about 85mph i've raced maybe a few times more before that shifting at 6400 with out the Stall i haven't been hard on her at all.
just happened and you dont notice anything is wrong until you get to 3k then it will seem like it goes away at times.
Could it be a Cam Bearing or would the not make any noticable chang in niose just oil pressure?

WOT at RPMS higher than most people reccomend for that motor followed by:
bad sounding noises
lower oil pressure
im gonna guess you find out for sure and take it apart or have it looked at before something worse happens

Alright so i take the car out again i thought it sound like a tapping, clanking or some sort at first but it wasn't.
the car still has the same drivability, no power loss, no change in performance.
noise actually sounds more like a rotory-pump. it doesn't sound like air sucking but almost sounds like it would be. more of the sound of a rotory-pump w/less air noise. sometimes it seems like it goes away or makes less noise, but just works it's way up high in the rpms to where you would here it above 3500. other then that no noise or nothing under 2800rpms..
