Camshaft
Hey everybody, this is my first post here and it is a question. I tried a search but came up empty with what i was looking for. I want to get a Cam this summer, but i have the stock heads and manifolds on my car now. The manifolds will give way to headers in the future, but the heads will stay. I am looking for a streetable cam ( one i can drive with everyday w/o any worries). I have read up on the Hotcam and it seems like a decent choice. I like the sound of it from what i have heard in sound clips. Any advice aould be great. Thanks in advance.

Re: Camshaft
Are you a 6-speed or Auto, I used to have a 6-speed, and my setup was stock heads, I had FLP headers, I had a comp cam...
222/222 .563/.563 112lsa
Very similar to the T1 from MTI
It drove good and made good power

Re: Camshaft
The GM Hotcam kit will give you pretty decent gains along with a nice, lopey idle even through stock manifolds, however...this is my best advice I can give you:
Unless your heart is set on the cam first, do the headers before the cam swap. Your gains will be that much more after you ditch the cast iron exhaust manifolds. Since I did a lot of reading on this subject and seen my friends cars go through the transformation this is the best I can tell you. If you decide the cam comes first, you won't be disappointed but the cam will come alive with headers.
