You mentioned lash and I though it was a solid roller setup. I was thinking it would be very odd for a solid lifter to collapse. I could see a hydraulic lifter doing so. Do stock LS7s run lash caps or do they have hardened tips.

I agree, that's why you have to be smart when you buy things. It's using commmon sense. I bought a set that were excess from a race team and never used. They were still wrapped in their original package.
