Has anyone ever had a set of ported heads where the water jackets have leaked into the exhaust runner?

I've had it happen on a friends LT-1 heads. Smoked like a freight train, but we were able to drive it home.

Actually no, I just had someone call me with this problem. Figures, he used a set of used heads trying to save money but who knows if that is even the problem.
