Yep it was good basic info but it didnt really pertain to kpower82 and he seems confused as it was. Wasn't trying to dis you but a direct answer would have been nice. All that was asked was should I have lined the dots up in the first place.. from there you go into advancing and retarding and cornfuse kpowr82 into asking or thinking

"I've got the torquer II on a 112+2, does that mean I should have retarded the cam 2 degrees?"

telling him +2 has already been ground in unless you bought an adjustable setup it doesnt pertain to your instal. Just go dot to dot straight up.

Sorry I dont mean to be a dick about it but I tried to follow this thread and it was like just answer the damn question already. Extra info is always appreciated, dont get me wrong but answer the freaking question first and then educate further if you feel the need. Ya I know I'm a dick for being a critic. Ya I'll shut up, now.

Ok not to make more confusion, but those of you have installed a cam did not degree it during installation. I'm an old school Carb guy and new to the LSX motors but I would have thought that it would be prudent to make sure the cam is timed as the Manf. said it was???

That's what dot-to-dot is... setting it up to the manufacturer's specs. Yes, you can degree it if you want but it is not absolutely necessary.

Not to be a smart ***, but wouldn't it be impossible to have the crank dot at 12 and not have the #1 cylinder at TDC?
