just thought i would ask, how come i havent seen very many, or any, people besides me with this cam:
Comp XER287HR
adv. dur. 287/289
specs : 238/240 .605/.609 112LSA
just wondering if you all knew something i didnt about this cam.

Looking at your setup, you TC is too small and your gears too long.

yea you need like 4000+ to really make good use of that cam

yeah i know. i am changing gears very soon. gonna try a 4.10 and if that is too much, i will go down to a 3.73. the stall will have to work for now, till i can afford to go bigger. rev limiter is at 6700, shift points at 6600 and i get through the 1/4mile traps with alot of third gear left with the 3.23 thats in it now.

and no you dont have to flycut. it has a little less duration than a trex and a little less lift and that clears stock heads.

Nothing wrong with big cams...you just need the supporting side of it like listed above.

i didnt think anything was wrong with it, just didnt see alot of people running it and wondered if maybe it was just a big cam with good numbers at .50" but not great overall. i dont know much about the overlap, or anything else, my car just isnt running well and i wondered if maybe i just had too much cam.
i went 12.73 @ 111mph on a 2.04 60ft. no spin, tune was a little off then, but the car should be better than that.
