Exclamation hot cam

hey guys. i was wondering if any one is running a gm ls1 hot cam?
i want some thing that will not hurt driveability. its a 98 z28 with the mods at the bottom of the page. i dont want a real lopey cam just some thing that will give me more power. a guy at a dyno shop said that i can pick up a lot of power with just a cam swap. it this true. do i go ls6 intake or cam?

thanks

well the hotcam is gonna give you more power than the intake but it does lope pretty good ... on a stock tune i figure its worth atleast 30hp ... it really picked my car up

There's plenty of cam selection.
For starters, check out Thunder Racing's selections. ----->
Sounds like you're a candidate for a TR224 on a 114 lsa once you have long tube headers on the car. Or, you can get the CheaTR cam if you want to retain stock exhaust manifolds.

As a rule general rule, LT's before cam.

I had the same issue you have and after research I opted for the 04 Z06 cam. No tune needed as recommended for the Hot cam because of Idle and performance. I have talked to guys who have used both cams and they love it and works great on Juice. The majority of the other posts I have read lean towards this cam between the two as well for someone who wants more power out of a D.D. However I will miss the nice thump that comes from the hot cam or any of the 220/220 durations. I plan on installing my Z06 cam/springs this weekend. Good Luck
