Well marine, if your looking to keep great torque then I might suggest a bit smaller than the cup cam because of it's size, you might be ok if your switching to an M6 because you can stall it to what ever you want but I think with the 106 LSA and a power range of 4000-7000 your still gonna be losing some torque over your LS6 cam because of it's smaller profile, it winds out quicker. If I end up getting something of this size then I'm gonna have to get a massive stall to keep some torque with my 3.42's. I'd be willing to bet that most would say this is not a real streetable cam but if all you are looking for is a real nasty idle and good torque then it would probably be what your looking for. Do you still have a 10-bolt rear? I could be wrong but just my opinion.

Orangeapeel, I have Patriot Stage 2 Heads and they have been barely milled so it bothers me. I guess if all else fails then I could just have the pistons flycut when I have the cam installed.

If thats the case then I would look else where. This cam was designed around a 346 and isnt gona be quite as nasty in a larger cubed motor. Vince has a nice cam in his 408 that makes some pretty nice numbers.

Oh, yea then it wouldn't be too large for a 408 but like stang killer said it was designed for a 346 so I don't think it's going to be as nasty as what your wanting in a 408.

you want a 248-25X with .610/61X 112 If you are going into a 408.

Flycut necessary? Anyone?

Bink 12-18-2005 06:13 PM

I have the GA/Cup cam in a stock bottom 346 and LPE/GM/LS6 heads that came milled 0.055" from SDPC. Pistons are flycut 0.80" and 0.100".
With a Fast 90mm and NW TB, LG Longtubes and through 4.10s -> 445rwhp/406 rwtq.
I expected a little more HP and TQ - oh well.
With a good tune it doesn't shake excessively.
It's fun to drive.
