Default how will this cam act?

i am installing a comp cams 216/218 .535/.535 114LSA cam with comp 918 springs in my 02 5.3, what will this cam run like in the truck with stock tune? will it be choppy, make a ton of top end power, etc, etc?

I have a similar cam in my car. Comp XE 218/218 .563/.563 114. Idles great, uses stock programming with no SES lights or stalling. Stock TB hole. Not choppy at all... just more "burbly" than stock idle. Top end pull is good, but power went up all around from what the "butt-o-meter" can tell.

My buddy has a 216/216 cam in his truck and it idles pretty good. You can definitely tell there is a cam in there. We did raise his idle 150 rpms though. Definitely not choppy, but more burbley. Major power gain from 4000-6000. You should really be happy w/ that cam.

what did you do to raise the idle? the tach on the dash isn't very accurate at all as i have come to findout here lately. so how are you sure you raised it 150? or is that a rough guess

I have a comp cam in my car (222/222duration..563/563lift ) with a with a lobe seperation of 114. The car sounds good, tough and i made power mostly through the whole power band. I'm very pleased with the results,i would recommend it to anyone. The is a little choppy during start up but after that runs smooth and sounds great.
