I have stock 1.7 rr on the exhaust and 1.85 rr on the intake with stock pushrods. Today I accidently dropped the tranny into 1st at about 55-60 and by the time I pushed back in the clutch I had reved to about 6700 rpm. Now my engine is making a knocking noise at idle, and it gets really bad when I rev it just to about 2200 rpm. I am going to check them tomorrow but was wondering if it could be anything else. Possibly a lifter or a bent connecting rod?

Better check both sides! I bent a pushrod on #2 and broke one in half on #7 @ 5500. If you own a stock 6speed ls1 upgrade your springs and pushrods before this happens to you. Even if you do not shift at the redline it can still happen! Hope its just the pushrod, I bent a valve on #7 also. I would do a leakdown or comp check also. cya
