Default Hot cam vs milage

Hello. Im putting a 5,3 in my 1980 Chevy stepside. It will more or less be my daily driver so milage is important.Im concidering a cam swap.A realy hot cam is out of the question, but is there any cam that will give me more punch without killing my milage?Should i just keep the stock cam? Exept from headers the engine is a stock 2001 modell. Would be nice to hear from any one that realy knows...Thanks

If you are really concerned about gas mileage just stick with the stock cam. A mild cam won't cause you to lose too much, but if you are pinching pennies, every little bit helps.
