Have just picked up upgraded engine in UK to go in my gd cobra 427 replica. Dyno couldn't cope with the grunt, managed 470 bhp however too much wheelspin even with someone sat in the boot for a true reading ! He reckons 500bhp, that's 500bhp/tonne .

I have a problem with the throttle sticking which was there before however even worse now, presumably this is an idle control setting problem as it used to only raise its ugly head when cold ?? Is this a common problem with the LSX.

It has really detracted from the thrill of getting the car back

Help please.

Is your throttle body dive by wire or mechanical?

Yes, no, sometimes ??????????????

The programme on the car is based on the same used in the new Marcos which has an LS1 ngine + yella terra rockers so is tried and tested. Could this be a fault in the custom / early version of the wiring loom used by GD (cobra replica company).

Does anyone else have this problem ???

Sorry, don't know. Stock LS6 bought from sup chev 2003.

LSX motors are known for building carbon in the Thottle Body. I have to clean mine on a regular basis. I use brake cleaner and q-tips/rags.
The idle sensor is particularily suseptible to sticking.
So basicaly clean the TB and sensors and go from there.
Also, do you have coolant running through the TB via the nipples at the bottom of TB?
Those need to be used in cold weather to warm the TB.

Very annoyed at mo as the car has been off the road since 2 days at Spa in early October where i destroyed front and rear nearside bearings, which destroyed the respective hubs and front disc, and cooked the brakes. New pedal box and racing pads/discs as well as repairs doesn't come cheap.

All sorted, out of pocket, picked car up today to find the throttle sticking, a problem that was supposed to have been rectified.....now drunk !!!!!!!!!!!
