rocker arm problem help!!

Default rocker arm problem help!!

i am in then middle of a H/C swap i am putting the valve covers back on and the rocker arms are hitting the valve cover. they are yella terra rocker arms. the cam is a 226/236 is that matters. please let me know what may be wrong with it. i am in need of any help i can get right now.

i am not sure if you need some valve cover spacers with these or not. try a search

Yeah you may need to cleanance the covers for the rockers to fit.

Mine did the same.. Remove covers and look for the dark spots on them. It will be at the valve cover fastener indents. I used a dremel and grinded away a good portion maybe an 3/16". Problem solved.

yeah thats what i had intended to do. but i didnt know if there where any other problems tha may be causing that. thanks for the advise.

Look for the wear marks on the underside of the covers. The rockers may be hitting those thin aluminum baffle plates. They are riveted in. You can grind the rivet heads off and remove the baffles. That should give you the clearance you need.

You can get some 98 valve cover spacers for a good deal on Ebay. I think some of the sponsors have them too. But i am not sure for 98s.
