Default Piston Identification

i got a group purchase of alot of LS1 stuff. i have 8 LS1 pistons. trying to figure out what exactly they are and what they are made for. they are JE pistons supposedly for a 4.115 bore. have JE stamped on the underside along with the numbers - 3914 F

i have no receipts or a JE box with part numbers. kinda one of those, had money laying around purchases, so just trying to see if i could use them in my all bore motor.

this pretty much a wasted purchase or is there a way to identify what exactly they are, for what stroke, for what rod, etc...

If memory serves my correct, JE will use a standard forging and machine it slightly differntly for many, many uses. You'll have to get them measured to actually know what they'll fit, probably. Measure the bore size just below the rings. They should be roughly .004-.005 smaller than the bore they're intended for. Also measure from the center of the piston pin to the top of the piston. This will tell you compression height so you'll know what rod/stroke they're intended for. If you don't have the tools to do this, I'm sure any decent engine builder in your area could measure them for you.
