Jesel's finally, ET solid roller pushrod length ect...
 

After waiting almost 2 months for Jesel and rockers I said enough was enough. Called a couple of my old buddies and sure enough Brian had a set of Jesel J2k rockers that he had purchased to use on his C5. Called Brian on his cell phone wednesday night and told him to ship them over, 2 days later they were at my front door. Brian you are the man!

We mocked the setup up tonight and with the adjusters about centered in the adjustement range the pushrod length came to 7.855 which we will round to 7.850.

3. What rocker ratio(s) did you use?

BTW, These heads are 225cc not the 240 solid roller for the 6 speed shop car.

Are those gunna clear the stock valve covers, or did you get spacers. I remeber you talking about spacers before. Looks very nice. I have the lightened Mohawk series in the mail right now.:)

So is the increased pushrod length caused by a shorter solid lifter?

We have about 8 sets of non adjustable rockers here now. Kinda sucks when we ordered 10 sets of adjustables. Also ordered a set of jesel lifters, .180 offset. Those got here right away, although they were striaght up on center. These are the kind of problems we've been dealing with for the last six months.

I'm not sure how many things contribute to the longer PR, but I know the longer valves are one of them. I wonder why there is such a variance between PR legnths? I saw another guy who used 8.100's in his ET headed application. Phil, have you mocked up your 240's to see what there gunna need legnth wise?
After looking at those pictures again, it looks like they have alot more meat in the PR area, so that could contribute to why yours are shorter than someones with stock rockers.

Which profile lobe?

PSI DR1224? 1,625" diameter, 2" tall, 275# on the seat, 750# over the nose (675# at .650 lift)? Does a 1.625: spring fit? Wouldn't that be a little stiff for a .650" lift?

Damn if my rocker looked that good I'd have to install plexiglas rocker covers and a minicam w/monitor just so I could watch my rockers pivot as a drove down the highway. It must be a hurtin feelin bolting on the rocker cover over those beautiful Jesels knowing that no one will ever get to see them again. I couldn't tell from you photos, but are the rockers in pairs? If so, why don't they just make one long shaft to cover the entire pedestal on the heads instead of using 4 pairs per side?

I have a set of .500 spacers and its gonna be very very close. I think we're just going to cut out some aluminum and fab up some valve covers this weekend.

No, they are 11 degree heads and when you rotate the valve the pushrod needs to be longer to maintain correct valvetrain geometry.

You wouldn't be able to install them, due to the high spring pressures associated with solid roller valve trains you would break the shafts/trutions<sp>.

Which brings back the question: which lobe? 275# on the seat would support a pretty aggresive lobe, especially with a small 2.10 valve.

That was my setup, using ETP 11* heads, Stock Rockers with ETP Stock Rocker Stands, Morel lifters, no milling and a .040" Cometic. Next time I'll go SR, since Phil is motivating me :)

Phil, make sure to either post or pm the results of the hyd. lifter setup. I am hoping you come out close to 8.100"...just for my own POM :)

That's some monster spring pressure, what RPM are you planning on running this motor ?

Those look so pretty, I don't know if I would put them on a motor.
