Default Bigger Cam

I have a 2000 SS. I have 6.0 heads that have been milled. I have a small cam, specs unknown. I went to get a bigger cam and the shop told me that because the heads were milled so much, that i would have to get different pistons and rods, for a bigger cam to fit. Again I don't know too much about this kinda things so I was gonna ask you guys if this sounded correct.
THANKS

well how much were the heads milled. and how do you not know your cam specs . at worst you'd need to just fly cut, no need for a new set of pistons and rods.
