Mobil 1 T&SUV 5W-40 Synthetic
I've also used Schaeffer 10W-30 and 15W-40 with great UOA wear results in the past.

I ran M1 10W30 for the first yr and a half of owning my car. I have M1 5W40 in it right now( Truck and SUV oil) and i will be using the Castrol Syntec 0W30(German Castrol) for my next oil change and there after.

The M1 5W40 is a great oil!

After researching on the boards, also went with this oil. Only oil that seems better on oil analysis is the German Castrol, but I can't find it in my area. The M1 T&SUV is on the shelf at Walmart and has gotten great reviews.

Why so thin? Patman didn't get good results with M1 5-30; he thinks it's too thin, 5-20 would be worse.

I use German Castrol 0w30 (the green stuff), been using it for the past 2 years or so. I have a quart of it so I can have it analyzed (used oil), but don't have an idea where to send it...

5w20 is way way too thin for the LS1 for sure! I'd love to see an oil analysis on it though, just for morbid curiosity.

German Castrol 0W30 here with K&N 2006 filter. Uses six qts.

I've heard that M1 thins out more so than other brands of synthetics.

Used Mobil 1 right along, I'm trying Royal Purple now. Feels slicker.
