Default Need your help!

Greetings to all!
I have a question that perhaps someone could answer for me. Here goes.......I have a 2001 LS1 engine with 6.0 heads that have been ported and polished, milled 0.042", and uses 0.042 head gaskets. The cam is a 224/.568-114 with a base circle of 0.030" less than stock. Pistons are 0.008" out of the hole. Can anyone tell me what length pushrod would work best and compression ratio. Thanks for any help rendered.

Default

.042 + .012 = .054
.054 - .030= .024

As per your numbers given you should use .024 shorter p-rods.
So either 7.375 or 7.350

Default Thanks !

Hey Dude,
That has got to be the speediest response I've ever gotten on this forum. I am actually writing from Afghanistan. Just trying plot a course of action for an unfinished project. This also helps me occupy my mind with something other than what's happening here. Same as iraq, but you just don't hear about it because Iraq is in hte public eye! Thanks again!

Afganistan...Haha..been there, done that to many times. Be careful over there. When we took Kandahar there were lots of landmines..same as Bagram. But I hear Bagram is pretty much a airforce base all nice and cleaned up now.

I would measure base circle to be sure of your numbers.
If the difference is less than .030 then 7.375 is what you should use.
Depending on lifts and lobe used the base circle measurements will vary.

Good luck in Afghanistan, I was in Kuwait (91)
